Stereotyping
In my experience when men roleplay women they tend to play
what is very much an adolescent male's one-dimensional
view of women. They define their characters in terms of what
they wear (usually things like mini-dresses, armour-plated
stockings or chain-mail bikinis) and how they look.
To put it bluntly: No bloke ever plays an ugly, unsexy woman.
Well that's my view, but I'm sure there will be plenty who
disagree with me. I just don't think that - for the vast majority
of roleplayers at least - cross-sex roleplaying works. But what
do you think?
Can men really roleplay women?
