This book enables you to create your own firearms for almost any RPG. Why use a book like this when you can sit down and create one with no system in mind, just write down the statistics? This book is internally consistent and this is where it scores over the previous method. Since the designer has gone to great pains to make the conversion notes complete, you can create something that fits nicely in with any game world.

There is a down side though, there are several pages of design information and a useful requirement is a calculator for this book. You need not despair though; you can purchase a spreadsheet for this program that takes all the grunt work out of the process. All of the firearms in this issue were created with this spreadsheet.

If you have the time to work the firearms out manually, then you may get more joy than just dragging slider bars, but I do not think so.

Beware, this is a book that you cannot pull out at the beginning of a game session. If the players want something special, then get them to give you what they want and after a little while you can give them their own customised firearm.

You can create anything from blackpowder sub-machine guns, to laser weapons and gauss shotguns.

After each chapter, there is a design example showing you how the system works.

In Conclusion

If you want a system where you can create your own special designs rather than use the pre-packaged guns supplied with your game of choice. If you are willing to devote time to create each one, then this book is for you. If you want a quick and dirty system for design, then give this book a miss.
