Contents The Old Friend From Way Back

A few weekends ago, at our Saturday gaming session, we got a visit from an old roleplaying friend who I hadn't seen for a few years. We got talking about life, the universe and why I was so mind-crushingly depressed that day.

He was taking the usual "you need to get out more" line and asked me if I'd ever thought about live roleplaying?

I asked something like: "You haven't read issue 2 of the fanzine then?"

And he replied with something like: "What fanzine?"

Like I said, I hadn't seen him for a long time.

I said "no matter" and explained that I went LRPing once but had a bit of a bad experience.

An American friend of General Tangent's was playing with us that day (he was on holiday here for a few weeks). Anyhow, as I said that, he suddenly sparked up with: "Oh the psycho GM!"

So someone had been reading it.

The old friend looked at me quizzically so I explained. "Well... I mean, first of the guy was totally dressed in camouflage gear, including forage cap---"

"Oh I knew him!" broke in the old friend. "I remember once during weapon testing he actually put dents in a locker door!"

Yeah that sound's like the guy, I thought.

It was pretty nice thought, to get independent conformation. It isn't just the ramblings of Jonny the madman. The psycho GM's real.

Just so you know.
